“It is not what is poured into a student that counts but what is planted.” (Linda Conway)

Curriculum delineates our philosophy, objectives and leads towards goals. It is encapsulated in the four capacities i.e. to enable each child to be a successful learner, a confident and aware individual, a responsible and concerned citizen and an effective contributor. Moreover, curriculum also endorses 7 Cs of life long skills and provides an opportunity to ensure progression and respond to individual needs and support particular aptitudes and talents.

The curriculum is split along the following lines.

  • Montessori (3 Years)
  • Primary (I-V)
  • Secondary (VI-VII)

Montessori:

“Tell me and I forget Teach me and I remember Involve me and I learn.” (Benjamin Franklin)

Characteristics of KPSS Montessori Program/Curriculum:

  • A secure and friendly environment to cater children’s requirement.
  • Children learn by playing with Montessori material and by exploring through creative activities.
  • Every child receives more individualized attention to develop self-confidence, autonomy, concentration and love of learning.
  • Teachers help children to tackle the problem, solve conflict and tailor in new situation.
  • Children are taught in a way that they capitalize their strengths and interests in order to learn a specific set of skills in contrast of teaching them through rote learning.
  • Our aim is to instill a love of learning in our students that will remain with the child through all stages of formal education and that will express itself in an enquiring mind and a heightened curiosity.

Primary (I-V):

The curriculum for this level outlines a detailed and structured framework of content that is comprehensive and flexible. An important goal of curriculum for this stage is to enable children to learn how to learn, and to develop the appreciation of the values and practice of lifelong learning. The young learners are exposed to the subjects i.e. English, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, Social Studies besides teaching of Islamait and Naazra Quran.

Secondary (VI-VII):

The curriculum for level VI to VII envisages a particular relationship between the acquisition of knowledge and the development of concepts and skills. The curriculum aims to ensure that students will develop the ability to learn independently and at the same time enables students to function effectively in a competitive environment.

The academic subjects include English, Urdu, Mathematics, Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Computer Education, Social Studies, Islamiat and Naazra Quran.

Class promotions will be decided by the headteachers at the end of the academic session.

Education has benefited from the inclusion of technology and computers so adequate arrangements have been made for its teaching in school from Nursery level. Thus two periods have been allocated in the school weekly timetable for each class.

Hands on experiences significantly promote learning at all levels of Science education beginning from Montessori. Students, who are engaged in well-designed laboratory experiences, develop confidence, perseverance, collaboration, responsibility and consensus along with skills of inquiry, problem-solving and critical-thinking.

Throughout the process, students have opportunities to design investigations, engage in scientific reasoning, manipulate equipment, record data, analyze results, and discuss their findings.

Keeping in view the vital role of Science laboratory, a Science Laboratory has been established in school where our little scientists carry out experiments.

Activities are an integral part of learning. We believe that excellence in and dedication to pursuits both inside and outside the classroom is necessary for the complete personal development of our students. We strive to provide diverse opportunities to our students to develop confidence, induce values and polish their interpersonal skills. For this purpose a whole week is allocated as an Activity Week (after annual examination).
